The Backstage Innovation Centre Project is a partnership between Backstage Academy and Wakefield Council that will see the creation of a specialist knowledge and innovation centre focusing on research and development for the live events industry and its supply chain.

The £7m+ project is partially funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and will be located on campus at Production Park in South Kirkby, West Yorkshire. The new centre will become a catalyst for change; not just for the global live event’s industry, but also in providing support and regeneration opportunities for SMEs and startups within the local region.

The new building will open its doors in 2021 and will provide a blank canvas for individuals and companies to bring new novel ideas and undertake a creative development cycle to bring them to commercial realisation.

We are looking for dynamic individuals to be part of this new team.

The Digital Content Designer & Lecturer will take the lead on all visual design & content support development for research projects, and interactive & immersive technologies research within the Backstage Innovation Centre and share their knowledge as a lecturer for Backstage Academy students.

50% of this post will be as a lecturer in Backstage Academy, and 50% of this post will directly contribute to the development and delivery of the Backstage Innovation Centre Project, part-funded by the European Regional Development Funds (ERDF). In this role you will be directly reporting to both the Development Director and the Academic Director.

This role is effective immediately and will be based at Production Park, headquartered in the Backstage Innovation Centre from Q4 2021. It comes with an industry competitive package and the opportunity to be part of writing the next chapter in entertainment technology development.

How to Apply: Please submit a CV & cover letter to HR@backstage-academy.co.uk.
